SUMMARY:May Gallery Night with Melissa Myers
DESCRIPTION:LAKE EFFECT\nPhotographs by Melissa Myers \nOpening Reception: Friday May 1st 5-7:30pm\nThese photographs focus on the shores of Lake Michigan where I grew up and often return to — the place where water and wind meet sand and are constantly reshaped. By moving in close\, the images draw attention to details\, allowing small elements of the beach to take on a larger presence. I use photography as a way to examine a landscape that is both familiar to me and abstract.   Change is a constant. The work is a quiet witness to something more powerful and larger than ourselves. \nThis show will be available for viewing throughout May. Please call first to verify our current office hours. \nThis program is made possible in part with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant program from the New York State Council on the Arts\, with the support of the office of the Governor and NYS Legislature\, administered by the Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County.
