residency

The Inlet Valley Arts Center is excited to offer artist residencies in the following mediums:

Media (sound, video and electronic arts)
Traditional Techniques (painting, writing, illustration, book making, and calligraphy)

Residencies are 1 or 2 weeks long. Visiting artists are housed at our residency studio space, located in former boarding rooms on the second floor of the Main House at the historic Grayhaven Motel. The space is comprised of two private bedrooms, two studios, and one shared full bathroom. There is access to an additional half bathroom on the first floor off of the gallery / guest lounge. Residency space is up one staircase, on the second floor of a 150 year old boarding house. Each resident has their own private bedroom, a separate private studio workspace, and a small kitchenette area with a small refrigerator, microwave, water kettle, plates and cutlery. We only host up to two residents at a time.

Two studios:

The traditional techniques studio is quiet, and has great natural light. Studio is equipped with a private sink, desk, easel, drawing table, reading chair, and great wifi. There is additional access to a kelsey 3×5 letter press, book press, digitally controlled drawing machines, 3D printer, large scale full color printer, and a wood shop.

The media studio offers a collection of projectors, CRT monitors, video cameras, audio recording equipment (digital and analog), reel to reel tape machine, 8-channel ambisonic sound system, guitars, basses, synthesizers, drum set, organ, microphones, musical instrument parts, custom handmade experimental electronic musical instruments and much more. The media arts resident also has access to our electronics lab, soldering equipment, meters, signal generators, and tools.
